Welcome!

Hey what’s up! Welcome to UpcomingDev! I’ve been working on this site for the past two months, and I have finally completed it! I’m really excited to start posting content because for the past two months, I’ve really been working on the look of the site along with the way posts/reviews would show up on certain pages. It’s been a freaking hassle, but I’m now ready to start writing reviews and to start writing posts about school and life!

I thought I was going to have this website up much earlier than December because I wasn’t planning on going all out on making a site. What I intended to do was use some type of site maker to make a site called UpcomingDev. I wasn’t satisfied with it though: here’s what it looked like on a sitemaker called Weebly (Here!). I felt like the “About” and “Contact” pages looked great, but I felt the blog portion looked like crap. In addition to that, as I researched more about Weebly, I figured out they rip off people who make sites on there, so I switched to the opensource sitemaker called WordPress, invested in hosting and a domain, and here I am two months later.  My girlfriend Cali has been pretty pissed off that I’ve been spending so much time these past two months just working on this site, in addition to going to class, so hopefully you enjoy the site (for her sake)!

Just a few things about my site. I am using the Disqus comment system on all of my posts and reviews. If you don’t have a Disqus account, you should definitely make one, so you can comment on all of my posts and reviews. The great thing about Disqus is that a decent amount of sites have it (e.g., The A.V. Club, Dilbert, and Patheos), so making one Disqus account will set you up to participate on any site that supports Disqus. I already have an account on Disqus (Here!), so you can definitely expect me to be commenting along with you guys.  Also, make sure you read all my pages underneath the “About” section of my site and make sure you read the post I posted about old reviews and new reviews.
